If you are looking for the best Brown Trout fishing on Lake Ontario don’t look any further! Fair Haven is well documented as the best Brown Trout fishing on the entire lake. In the 2002 Spring LOC Derby, Fair Haven topped the leader boards not only with the top Brown Trout weighing19.02 lbs but also the top 4 weight categories plus 6th, 11th , 15th, 16th, and 17th place along with the largest Steelhead at 18.11 lbs. Again showing location is a major factor when picking where to fish for your trophy of a lifetime. In Spring 2007 the Lake Ontario Counties (LOC) Derby Brown Trout division was won in Fair Haven. Four (4) of the top twenty (20) placed Brown Trout were caught out of Fair Haven, NY. The Fair Haven anglers placed first (1) - 20.0 lb brown trout, fourth (4) - 13.0 lb brown trout, eleventh (11) - 11.08 lb brown trout, and twentieth (20) - 10.8 lbs brown trout. Once again showing that Fair Haven is the place to fish on Lake Ontario.
